Why have we chosen to develop with Fusebox? Fusebox has proven to be an efficient development methodology. It allows us to build complex applications faster and therefore reducing our development costs which we pass on to our customers. Since the Fusebox methodology allows us to structure our components in a more modular way we are able to re-use components and/or upgrade existing components to provide the exact structure our clients are looking for. |

The latest version (v. 4.1) offers the benefits of using XML for the framework which allows one to move a project to a different platform (e.g. ColdFusion --> PHP). The framework would remain the same, only the fuses would need to be changed to the new language. Furthermore, Fusebox 4 allows for the core files to be parsed which results in pages loading up to 8 times faster than its predecessor. |

Globe Trekker - Travel Portal : 1998 - 2006 |

The ColdFusion team started work on globetrekker.com in 1997 and has been developing additions and improvements to the site ever since. Originally designed and built in ColdFusion 4.5 the site was upgraded to ColdFusion 5.0 even before it was released to the public. Fusebox 3 was adapted in 2002 and in mid 2005 the site was upgraded to be compatible with ColdFusion MX 7.0 using FuseBox 4 methodology. The site will be moved over to a dedicated server in 2006 where additional MX 7.0 features will be made available to memebers. |
